Heyo gang! I wanted to get this started just as a place to drop some thoughts and ideas and concepts I might have along the way while we are designing. One thing that I have really been working on in order to balance time spent on the business versus on my full-time job teaching and time with my wife has been time management.
I know, a lot of people probably hear this and immediately tune out, but, like all things, time management is incredibly important. Natalie and I had several discussions about needing to make sure that now that we lived together (5 years long-distance before getting married) I would be able to set aside time for us as a couple. And lemme tell you, it was hard and sometimes still is.
I often find myself completely sucked into work, just wanting to keep writing and doing layout and editing and the like, and forgetting to take breaks, to establish boundaries, and to remember that I have a full-time job already: being a husband and a partner. So, as a New Year's Resolution, I set myself a schedule of when I would do work for the company, and I now have it taped right by my computer.
I make sure I take breaks, that I don't work longer than four hours at a time without some kind of buffer or gap, and that I don't forget what is important: to still have energy for all the other things we got going on in life.
And that also means stopping projects or putting them up on the shelf for a while, especially if you are just not feeling it anymore. Don't waste time just trying to get something out because you said you would if you are tired of it or don't have the passion for it.
Anywhose, that is all for now, going to try to keep posts semi-scheduled/planned. See you all later!

Hey folks! This is just a spot for me to drop some thoughts as we create and publish along the road.
